Biography

Background:

 

2021 founded SwanWing Productions and wrote, directed and performed in ‘Love in the Time of Lockdown’ at the Brighton and Edinburgh Fringe.

Living in Brighton, working as director, writer, translator and drama teacher.

Deputy store assistant and volunteer coordinator at Gladrags Community Costume Charity in Moulsecoomb.

Part of the team that helped make the Ludwig Musical happen near Neuschwanstein Castle in Bavaria, 2001.

1988 – 1994: Director’s assistant, dramaturge and director at theatres in Hamburg (Schauspielhaus, Thalia, Kammerspiele), and opera houses in Kiel, Eutin, Frankfurt, Heidelberg. Work with Michael Bogdanov, Arie Zinger, Birgitta Trommler, Jon Jory, Stephan Barbarino and others.

1992-1994, Hamburg – Presenter of a twice weekly one hour Radio Show interviewing creative people about their work on Radio Jazzwelle plus. Guests included: Giora Feidman, Erika Berger, Ulrich Tukur, Marilyn Cutts and the cast of Music Theatre London and many more.

1987 – 88, Hamburg: Assistant for the 5-part television series ‘Die Bertinis’ directed by Egon Monk

1987, Hamburg, Assistant for the film ‘Vergessen Sie’s, directed by C.Cay Wesnigk

1986, Hamburg, lighting designer and director’s assistant of the fringe play ‘Herzblut des Chamaeleons’

1985: MA in English and German Literature/Media studies and Musicology University of Hamburg, Germany.
1983-84 scholarship to Tulane University in New Orleans USA, 1979 German Abitur, 1976 American High School Diploma.

Born in Lübeck, Germany, married with two children.

Teaching:
2016-2019 –Workshops for film students on ‘Working with Actors’ at the Bournemouth University Film Studies Department.
1996 – 2003 – Adult Education Classes in Drama and German at Portslade Community College.
